Great new format - old style did look a bit dated. As a newbie found section for Newcomers very useful. Is it easy to change membership to stud name rather than my own name and also can my son show under same stud name? Thanks and keep up the good work !!

Thank you. Yes, your son can show under your stud name, providing he is a member too. A stud name(prefix) is registerred to you and all under it. It costs £5 and stays with you for as long as you remain a member of the BRC. If you wish to use a stud name, simply chose one and request it from Head Office. You can do this either over the phone or on-line in the SHOP section - prefic reg, and use the large box to type in the stud name you would like. Having said all that, you can if you wish, still show rabbits under your own name aswell as the stud name, providing the ring on the rabbit is registerred to the correct name or prefix. |

Hi i'm quite new to all this & was wondering if someone could answer a few questions? Can you show a rabbit that isnt rung? How do you become a BRC Breeder? i have just joined as a member, is that the same thing? Some of my bunnies have been rung by their breeders - if i was to start to breeding how would i get my own rings? Really i just wanted to know what its all about as i would like to breed & show in the near future! Thanks alot for reading this & look forward to a responce :)

You can only show an unrung rabbit in Pet classes. A rabbit has to have a ring on it to be shown in the open show and IF you wish to show a rung rabbit in your name, you have to be a member of the BRC and the ring be registerred in your name. If you wish to show a purchsed rabbit that has been rung by its breeder, you can have that ring number transferred to your name by filling out a ring transfer card. These are available from H/Office. If you go to the main website and select the link NEWCOMERS, there is a lot of information to help you |
